|Join me in my efforts to support the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation!|
|1760 kilometres! Two weeks! What was I thinking?! There are going to be some pretty epic and some pretty loooong days. This is my fourth year tackling one of these cycling odysseys and Iím trying hard not to think about how much longer this is. The training has been going pretty well, with lots of spin classes and early morning rides around the city. |
While it might seem like a crazy thing to do, I could not resist this ďwin-winĒ opportunity. We will get a chance to see a bit of the unique Haida culture in that far flung area of Canada and then cycle right across BCís north and half of Alberta. At the same time we will be fundraising to support programs at the Stollery Childrenís Hospital which will benefit our own children and grandchildren as well as those from a huge area around Edmonton and across the north. I canít wait to meet the totem pole carver and see his creation that will accompany us on the ride back to Edmonton. I am hoping that its symbols of healing and hope will cross the cultural divide and bring comfort and inspiration to us all.
My goal is to raise a minimum $10,000 this year. The mitten making venture (www.jjwool.ca) provided the first half of the funds and now I must rely on you, my stalwart supporters .
Thank you for supporting me. Once again, Iíll keep in touch with a trip blog.
