|These two cuties are much more charming than I. Plus, all my photos are long distance and don't begin to adequately display my incomparable good looks!|
|Hello, my name is Cec Butt. I am the grandfather of these two little "angels" pictured on the left. I will be 71 when I leave Masset, Haida Gwaii for Edmonton on June 16, 2014. Having been a cycling enthusiast with tours through British Columbia, Washington State, Spain and Portugal, I don't need much prodding to grab my bike and hit the road for a good cause that someday might help my or anyone's children or grandchildren.|
This tour though is very, very special! Why is that? Because the intention is to raise money to assist the Stollery Childrens' Hospital in its endeavours to find cures for and to treat our most precious and vulnerable people - our children and grandchildren. I just found out that the Stollery Childrens' Hospital gladly receives children from as far east as Winnipeg to as far west as Haida Gwaii. Moreover, I am told that about one third of these deserving little patients are aboriginal children. That's a lot of kids in need, which is why I think the Stollery Childrens' Hospital is a "treasure" that needs our full support.
Since the patients in this great facility are often unfortunate little people who cannot always speak for themselves, I am honoured to be able to do something that could contribute to either their cure or their comfort. And, as a side note, being involved in raising funds that will assist aboriginal children could provide a way for improved communication and understanding between two cultures that really do need to better appreciate one another. Especially since we all truly care for our finest and best "treasure" - our Children!!
So, please donate here and help the Stollery weave its magic.
